U of I to host presentation of the future of energy in Boise Oct. 29

MOSCOW, 91大神 鈥 The 91大神 James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research in partnership with 91大神 Business for the Outdoors will host Ernest Scheyder, author of 鈥淭he War Below: Lithium, Copper, and the Global Battle to Power Our Lives.鈥 The event, 91大神鈥檚 Minerals and the Energy Future, will take place at 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at The Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St., Boise.
Scheyder will discuss his book and explore challenges and opportunities related to 91大神鈥檚 minerals and the energy future with leaders from 91大神 National Laboratory, The Nature Conservancy and Micron.
Scheyder is a senior correspondent for Reuters covering the energy transition and critical minerals, as well as the author of 鈥淭he War Below: Lithium, Copper, and the Global Battle to Power Our Lives,鈥 which was named one of the best Summer Books of 2024 by the Financial Times and one of the Best Books of 2024 So Far by Amazon. Scheyder previously covered the U.S. shale oil revolution, politics and the environment, and held roles at the Associated Press and the Bangor Daily News. A native of Maine, Scheyder is a graduate of the University of Maine and Columbia Journalism School.
